About these cards

Checked against:

  • Word selection follows vocabulary commonly taught for JLPT N3 (no official list exists since 2010). 66 of the 100 headwords are on the JLPT N3 vocabulary list compiled by Jonathan Waller (tanos.co.uk, CC BY); each of the other 34 gives its level on the same compiler's N5, N4, N2 or N1 list in a JLPT list line on its back. The deck excludes every word in the JLPT N4 Vocabulary — Core Words deck and the AP Japanese deck (26 words also appear in the N4 and N5 topic vocabulary decks, which were added later); meanings, kanji spellings, verb groups and adjective types checked against JMdict (EDRDG, CC BY-SA 4.0). Reference only; all example sentences are original.
  • Pitch-accent positions checked against the Kanjium accent data (CC BY-SA 4.0); reference only.
